TERRITORY & DMA GUIDE
This guide explains how Dammit to Hail Roofing™ territories are defined, assigned, and protected within the licensing program.
TERRITORIES ARE BASED ON DESIGNATED MARKET AREAS
Licenses are issued by Designated Market Area (DMA), not by individual city limits or ZIP codes. A DMA represents the full regional market surrounding a major city, including the communities that share the same media, economic, and service footprint.
This approach reflects how homeowners actually consume television, radio, digital media, and regional services following major storm events. Damage rarely respects municipal boundaries, and response activity typically spans the broader metropolitan region.
ONE OPERATOR PER DMA
Only one contractor is authorized to operate under the Dammit to Hail Roofing™ brand within each DMA. No additional licenses are granted inside that territory while the license remains active and in good standing.
This ensures that homeowners encounter a single identifiable provider in their region rather than multiple companies using the same name.
NO INTERNAL COMPETITION
The program is structured to eliminate competition between licensees using the same brand. Adjacent DMAs may be operated by different contractors, but overlap within a single DMA is not permitted.
Boundary clarity protects both operators and the integrity of the brand.
HOW BOUNDARIES ARE DETERMINED
DMA boundaries are established using widely recognized market definitions commonly used by national advertisers and media organizations. These boundaries encompass the primary city as well as surrounding counties and communities that function as part of the same regional market.
In some cases, natural geographic barriers, travel distances, or service practicality may also be considered when defining the effective operating area.
TERRITORY PROTECTION
Once a territory is assigned, it is reserved exclusively for that operator. The licensor does not authorize secondary contractors to use the mark within the same DMA and does not rotate coverage among multiple companies.
Unassigned markets remain unlicensed until a qualified operator is approved.
SERVICE OUTSIDE THE TERRITORY
Licensees are expected to focus use of the brand within their assigned market. Performing work outside the territory may be permitted under the licensee’s primary company name, but use of the Dammit to Hail Roofing™ brand is limited to the authorized area.
This maintains clear market association between the brand and the designated operator.
ADJACENT MARKETS
Neighboring DMAs may be licensed to different contractors. Each operator is responsible for their own territory, and activities should be conducted in a manner that respects established boundaries.
PROGRAM PURPOSE
The DMA structure exists to provide meaningful regional coverage while preserving exclusivity for each operator. By aligning territories with real-world market behavior rather than arbitrary city lines, the program ensures that the brand identifies a single provider across the full area affected by major hail events.
